I was just done commenting on the announcement post a few minutes ago, answering the above question specifically, but for the sake of convenience, i'll copypasta it here...

I’m not sure if i’m still ready to transition from hypnotized dance music festival to dusty sands.

However, i do see the cleverness (as per usual by Lirodon) of the concept, that we’ve had our fun in the dark, and now it’s time to have fun in the light…….if…deserts, or wherever TM4 supposed to take place, is associated with light…And hey, the two main stars of the story: Obscurus had her fun in the dark, and now Sun’s about to have fun in the desert…

…do i have the initial idea of this correct?…

Inanycase though, even if i’m not yet ready for sands, i’ll be really curious how TM4 will turn out. Will periodically switch between Chrystalize, Aeternum, and this new Euphorius, so i don’t get bored of one single theme.

But most eagerly i’m awaiting for is TM3’s Night 3 update, which hopefully addresses 2 particular issues mentioned on a particular thread in the TM bugs subforum.

The thread in question, btw is this.

I'm going to say this:

TM3 was a celebration of the night. TM4, however, is a celebration of unity ... via fire. Yes, it makes sense, but why? Also, on the whole light/dark thing: I'm actually trying to subvert that. How, you ask? You'll see...

The lore of 4 is designed to be a natural continuiation of the lore of the TM3 universe; the event we're paying tribute to this time around actually takes place within the EXACT SAME U.S. STATE as the event TM3 paid tribute to (specifically, Nevada. The SSC was meant to be a ponified parody of Electric Daisy Carnival and other "all-night" dance music events). Obscurus is still the main big bad, but now she has company. In fact, if you look a little closer in the original tease poster, you'll see her in the background levitating a compass (and being forced to dress like a stereotypical raver. She lost a bet or two).

That giant wooden Alicorn may be a hint: which real-world event in Nevada primarily involves a giant wooden structure in the middle of the desert, and fire?

Plus, why is Obscurus needing to go into the desert? Well, she's searching for something...
